Governor Yusuf Approves ₦3.77bn for Schools, Learning Materials, and Contractors’ Payments

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved ₦3.77 billion for critical interventions in the education sector across Kano State.
This was contained in a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Saturday.
The approvals were made at the 35th Executive Council Meeting held on 18th December, 2025.
Key approvals include ₦1.69 billion for settlement of boarding school suppliers for the 2025/2026 academic session.
₦375 million for the procurement of 50,000 school bags for pupils.
Council also approved ₦369.9 million for rehabilitation of Government Secondary School, Mariri, and ₦1.32 billion for relocation and reconstruction of Maikwatashi and Danwaire Primary Schools.
Governor Yusuf further directed contractors handling classroom projects across the 44 local government areas to complete all works within one month.
The Governor said the investments are aimed at restoring quality, safety, and dignity in public education.
